Hi guys,

I would like your input regarding a strange event on my car occuring randomly. I dont know if its a problem or not but i would like some input from you beforing going to the mechanic. I own a 520i E60 (2004) automatic. Here is a brief description of the issue :

Lets say im going constant speed of 60km/h on the road and i have turn in a left or right corner. I press the breaks the car reduces to 25-30 km/h and the gearbox shift gears down. When i turn i press the gas to accelerate (i dont push it down hard just to accelerate), sometimes the car behaves abnormally. When i turn the car is about 1500 rpm. When i push the gas to accelerate the rpm goes aprrox to 2250 then gets down to 1500 again. This happens fast about 2-3 times, the car kicks heavily like its trying to acelerate but cannot. Then after 2-3 times of the rpm pointer going up and down the car shifts one gear down and starts accelerating. This kicking last about 3-4 seconds.

Please note that the iDrive shows no errors whatsoever.

What do you think?

thnx

I don't have an automatic, and this may be a waste of time, but you could try resetting the gearbox:
