do most people buy there cars frombmw stock or have they had them bulit to order

I odered mine to my exact spec. It only took 6 weeks to build which was very impressive.

 

If you are on this message board, you may be an E60 freak. And most E60 freaks are very picky about the car and what's on it. So they usually order.

If you're like most people though, you just stroll into the dealership, test drive, and MAY buy right then. In other words, you don't need or want to wait.

So what MOST people do and what MOST PEOPLE ON HERE do can be different.

I'd order it just like you want. While the wait can be excruciating, it's well worth it.

 

I waited from my first ordering opportunity for the 6er to November just to be sure I got exactly what I wanted. If you're going for the long haul like I am (most my cars/trucks driven over 200K miles) it just makes sense to get all that you want. I could have gotton the "features" I wanted in another brand, but would have been missing the driving excitement difference in the BMW.

 

always build to order, the dealer never will order the car you want...and, its nice to know that the car was built exactly for you, too....

well worth the (sometimes long) wait
