My 530i is a 8/2003 production and has pdc L7 all packages but sport, and navigation. my previous bmw X5 4.6is had the navigation system and i loved it and now in this new 5 i dont know where the heck i am going. i heard that only nov and dec production 5 series can be retro fitted with nav. i asked the dealer why it will not work and they told me that the software the car has will not accept the nav because of the idrive vin coding. i told them to send it in to be put on there, just as they had done when my telephone was not working, and they put the code in and now the phone works. i dont understand why the navigation is so hard to do- or do they just not want to put it in? is there anyone who knows more info on why the navigation will not be retro fitted on the car because i think its stupid for bmw to make it possible on different production dates when it is the exact same car!
