Car was idle for 10 days - had oil under engine this a.m.

Had exactly same issue in exactly same car - after investigation transmission pan gasket needed to be replaced. After that no leaks (so far, winter just started ). You might need to remove underbody cover to really see where the oil is coming from - in my case it was along the gasket. In any case you won't see anything if you drive car regularly, but if it really bothers you (it did bother me) I would drive it to mechanic to have it checked.

So I checked it out last night - it isn't oil the engine - all levels were fine. The fluid on the floor is nearly dead center in the car - I think it is transmission fluid, it is a light honey brown color. I put some white poster board down to check for seepage overnight but it was dry.

I was going to get my "lifetime" ATF changed soon so I guess the gasket will be on the list.

I have a similar problem and noticed it after I came back from a 5 week holiday, car sat in the garage throughout that time. But mine had leaks from two spots. One spot is around the centre of the car and the other spot is underneath the engine. My dealer checked it out and found that the transmission pan gasket needs to be replaced and also a vaccuum hose around the engine area.

But the fact is, that in Russsia the oil workers can have their cars in Siberia idling all the time in the winter.
The temperature can be under minus 40 C for some months.
A lot of ie Toyota Landcruiser and Sisu trucks (with Rolls-Royce engines) turbos have been sent from Finland,
express, to the tundras.

And this is no shit.
I lived in Siberia for 23 years, and I concur. I used to let my Toyota Corolla run 24 hours a day for several weeks in winter. It was just fine.

I just had a similar leak on my 645Ci - it turned out to be a transmission tunnel sleeve (o-ring in there) leak - that sleeve is where the electric harness is routed to the gearbox. My SA said it was just defective part, he also said this is not the first one he saw changed recently. The oil was exactly like you describe it - light honey in color, maple syrup consistency. Covered under CPO.
