I was scheduled to take my car in today to replace to interior door pulls that the finish was wearing off. Went to work as usual noticed some moaning. Left to take the car to the dealership. Had my list of concerns. Mentioed that it had just started moaning.( thought it may need power streering fluid). Many of the things on my list I just wanted documented. Such as only 2 times since I have had the car the max button did nothing to the fan speed nor did lowering the temperature to cooler or adjusting the fan speed manually. Happened twice. Both isolated events workes flawlessy 99.9% of the time. Sunroof one time while closing freaked out and decided it needed to stay open and it retracted. Again a one time only incident.

Anyway, they said my rack and pinion system has to be replaced. The moaning was a result of one of the boot on the steering system leaking fluid. The delaership said the best thing to do was to replace the whole thing. It is still u nder 4yr/50,000 mile warranty with the CPO warranty starting in February of 09.

Got a 328i. Nice engine. Dash to me looks like something from a Dodge Polaris 1970's police car

After the 5 a 3 does nothing for me. I dislike the dash, fuel economy is no better, hate run flats, ergonomic are way off-window switches out of reach for driver without stretching, passenger side window switch is ahead of the door pull which means you have to do some odd wrist manuevering.
Do not like the tail lights. Do not like the way the grill is divided between bumper and hood.
After getting use to the idrive in my 5, I am having difficulty managing things in the 3.

I WANT MY CAR BACK!!!!!

I do not like the 3. I thought the 5 was a land yacht when I first got it. The 5 feels more substantial than the 3. For instance, on the 3, the interior door panels look like they have been scooped out....wider at the top near the window. Makes it feel cheap and puny.

What is the point of having a fob that you have to insert into a hole to then be able to hit the start button? My companion's Lexus you can just have the fob in your pocket and the car will start.
