A smoke test is done with the car off and smoke being pumped into the intake. You look and see if smoke comes out any where and there you have a leak. You can get a cigar and tape a hose on the intake and blow smoke into it if you don't have a smoke test setup. You either have a bad leak somewhere if injector/MOFET issue. Did the engine over heat and if so how long was it over heating?
it overheated many times then it became the red warning for overheating and eventually started overheating 5 mins after driving.. so I stopped driving it and wanted to change the water pump but never even got the chance to get that part the crack shaft sensor is where exactly? I def have an oil leak into the cylinders/spark plugs so could be possible.. but isn’t my engine the n54 not m54?

It's not even worth troubleshooting. You need a new engine. You never drive on an engine that's overheating. You cause more damage than just letting it sit and fixing it. These engines don't do well with over heating; none of the aluminum engines do especially overheating, cooling down rotation. If you do happen to get remotely working it will not last long.

that’s scary to hear man.. unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of buying an engine replacement dude and I just got the car really not that long ago.. prob hasn’t even been over two months man.. therefore I really need to narrow it down and see what’s causing my starting issue(S) and then I’ll get to the bottom of the overheating(which is most likely the water pump).. not sure what to even do anymore man fml

The MSD80/1 is for the N54. I don't believe I put M54 but yes you have a N54. You can try to work out your issues especially oil in the plug holes. I don't know the extent to which you drop it overheating but it is a big no no with aluminum engines.

If you have oil in the plugs then you need a valve cover gasket kit and some plugs. But as I stated above I wouldn't spend anything on the car unless it passes a compression test/leak down test.
