Hello guys. I have a problem with my BMW E60 2006. It has 358000 kilometers on it and no serius problems so far. But now the car is having 2 issues now.

Issue 1:
the car's revs go up and down when the car slows down. for example, when the car is in motion and you step on the petrol pedal, the car's speed starts to tremble and go up and down. When the car is at a standstill it works perfectly.
Issue2:
It smellind bad. Something like burned oil-fuel. You can smell it sometimes in car with closed windows but if a window is open it smells a lot. I had it serviced and also cleaned the whole excsaust system includind the catalyst. But its still smelling bad.
Any ideas or any had the same issues for help.?

How did you "clean the whole exhaust system"? This makes me think that the car might have been diagnosed with a clogged catalytic converter, which may or may not respond to "cleaning", and can cause the kind of problems you're experiencing. If your car has (had?) a problem with misfires or burning oil, chances are good that it's fouled your cats.

Hi. The specialist told me that he had cleaned the catalyst and the whole excsaust system of the car. To be honest i wasnt there to see what he has done but the car after the cleaning has the same problem as it was before. No error codes at all for that issue.

Nothing at all about misfire and anything else. It only had the bad smell and the revs issues.

Im not an expert or mechanic but my 520d had similar problems. I guessed it was a clogged DPF, never got it diagnosed. I fixed it mostly with new shell helix engine oil, premium diesel and a long hard drive with a lot of full throttle and high revs. Maybe the smell is DPF regen related. I sucked my oil out the dipstick tube with a pump and the filter is easy to change, I don't feel safe getting under my car.
