My Ride: 2005 530Xi
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Picked up my new 2007 530Xi last night. Drove it to work this morning and when I turned off the car and opened the door a message saying "Radio Mode Is Still On" appeared on the bottom of the screen along with an exlamation point in the instrument cluster. The radio would not turn off and I could not lock the car. I have comfort access and placed the key in the ignition and then released it and everything shut down. This has now happened twice and was wondering if anyone else had this problem or if I was doing something wrong. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum, sorry that your start is a bit sad.
That must be a programming error, contact your dealer!
The radio should go off automatically but try pushing the little
black volume knob in the middle console, left from the CD/DVD assembly.
Please fill in your whereabouts and signature, including car data!

I just picked up an 07 550i with CA and I am having the same problem. The radio stays on until I get out and lock the car. Also the car seems a little slow to let me lock it.

Could the problem be Comfort Access?
My radio turns off when I remove the 'key' from the slot, not when I shut the engine off with the button.
It is my understanding that with Comfort Access, one keeps the key in one's pocket the whole time, thus the car, even if it is up to snuff, would not know to turn the radio off unless one remotely locks the doors or walks 'out of range.'
Anyway, that's my guess.

I.e. when I shut the engine and pull out the key,
the radio and the Screen goes on for a second or so.
It needs a bit of thrust in the system, though.
