I have an 04 530i and I bought it a month ago. Last couple of times when I tried to fill the gas, it would just stop when it is just 3 quarts. Anybody has this problem with 04 530i and any idea whats wrong? It happened 2-3 times already for me.

You don't turn off the ignition while pumping rite? Try to turn the ignition, pump, turn the car back on... I have the same problems with a 3 series and the Audi A4.

Not sure about the "turn on ignition" comment. I do not believe the vehicle should be "on" while fueling. If you are referring to the automatic shut off for the gas pump shuutting off prematurely, it may have something to do with fueling a vehicle with a nearly empty tank. Introdicing fresh, colder fuel into a vehicle that has been sitting out in the heat can trip the shut off from the pressure.

Do a search. Can't recall the exact issue but there was a problem with older cars where something in the line caused a premature stopping of the auto stop function on gas pumps... Otherwise I found pulling the nozzle out an inch or two helps.
