To the OP, I'd check the cabin micro-filter housing at the back of the engine bay. It may be loose, have a bad seal, broken, or have a crack, hole in it. You could try running without the micro-filters installed to see if the noise increases or deceases.

I have a wind whistle noise that sounds like it's coming through my vent/dash. It first started at 130 mph+, but recently happened at 80+. I took it to the dealer and it couldn't be replicated. I went on M5Board and apparently this is an occassional problem with the windshields. Some aren't perfectly tight and you get a noise like wind is coming through the vents or the dash. Pinpointing it is difficult. The dealer agreed to replace the windshield for me.
Do you still experience the whistle noise after the windshield replaced?

I think C is on the right track with the windshield theory...
We've seen similar issues in the past -- here's just a small sample of threads on the subject:

It's a vibration Metal/Metal from one of your exhaust components. Rpm's & heat will change the clearance quite a bit. Have your exhaust system looked at carefully. Check all clearances. Heat causes expansion and if something is very close cold, it's going to touch hot. High Rpm's can twist the drive train on the tranny / engine mounts as well.

My cousin 335XI have a similar whistling sound at high speed. As it turned out the windshield was not properly sealed. Resealed the windshield and this solved the problem.
