Yes, it has been very cold.

I haven't been able to let her loose because of the roads being so crappy.

Richmond Hill / King City! Thomas your 6 looks awesome!

Anyone with M-tech looking for a Hartge splitter let me know! Its been sitting in my garage for 3 weeks. Paid $1200 painted and shipped from Cali. Not including duty fees. Letting her go for $500 locally.

Also selling my custom exhaust with Magnaflow muffler. Paid around $1600 looking to get $600 locally.

I've also got H&R springs for sale (535xi only) and brand new in box Axis Deluxe brake pads (535xi only). Pm me if interested!

My cars also on leasebusters.com if anyones interested , its completely stock other then exhaust (haven't had time to get it taken off yet) and front lights. The car has 22,500kms on it. Take over my lease and ill pay your first 2 payments and give you the exhaust and splitter for free!

New member here from Okotoks Alberta (just south of Calgary). Please excuse if I'm doing anything wrong.
I'm actually a wannabe looking to get a 550 and probably from south of the border. Anybody have experience with this? Local dealer tells me that the speedo pod and heater controls need to be replaced??? to get car certified for up here. CAD$2400 for parts and 900 labour ostensibly to get the DRL's working. Also want $500 plus GST for the recall letter. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've been in and out of dealer shop recently and was chatting with the guys and noticed they have been very busy lately and ask why. Service manager told me that lots of the cars they have been working on are vehicles from south of the border that don't have the cold weather stuff that the canadain cars are fitted with and have been having trouble in our recent deep freeze. Now how true this is I'm not totally sure as I am not aware of really any differences in terms of parts for Canadian cars and american cars? In terms of the speedo and climate controls I don't see why they need to be changed, the american speedos have km's on them.

that is correct, all BMW's coming from south of the border have to have those two items replaced according to BMWCA

Thanks very much for the comments. Very helpful. Is it possible to put a block heater in a 550?

I've heard that there may be an aftermarket one but Bmw does not have one nor do they say you need one, so far no problems yet and it's been really cold the past two weeks.

If you say you're ok without one I'll go with that. I know what you guys get for cold; I'm originally from Battleford. Merry Christmas!
