... the latest software release has taken away the ability to open the boot without opening the doors, my LCI production 0307 has never been able to open the boot without unlocking the doors.

A tad confused here
"Opening" the doors or "unlocking" the doors? There's difference. And, no, you can't open the "boot" (or the fuel door) with the doors locked. They're all tied together.

Fuel door, yes, but I can open/unlock my trunk/boot with the doors locked. At least I know for sure I can walk up and press the hidden rubber button (I have Comfort Access) and the trunk will unlock. Pretty sure I can use the fob button as well without having to unlock the doors.

You are correct of course, but in my old 545 you could still use the button on the key to unlock the trunk while the doors were still locked. And that was pre-CA. Is that something that has changed on the CLI cars?

Just ran out and checked:with the car locked, you are able to open the trunk via remote by pushing the trunk hatch button (bottom key)

I'm gonna have to check that, myself. Last time I tried to open the trunk with the remote with the doors locked, I ended up setting off the alarm.

You held it too long. Try 1 second. At about 3 secs the alarm goes off.
