Specifying folding mirrors as an option = Autofold..........At least that is the terminology that I am using.
Fairy Nuff.

It's just that there's NO auto with the folding.

So the mirrors on your latest e60 aren't electrically folding? As you rightly say - an entirely different problem then.

If im understanding this correctly, as long as you have manual Auto Folding Mirrors (Option/feature Oxymoron? ), meaning you press the button near windows control on arm rest to auto fold mirrors, you can also have this programmed into your key/keyfob to auto close as well when pressing auto lock button on key/keyfob?

Would this also work with comfort access?

Has anyone had their dealer perfom this in the US?

KAF, just out of interest, when you use you key fob lock button to fold the mirrors, what happens when you need to unfold them. I presume it does not happen by just pressing the unlock button of your key fob...?... So does that mean you need to use the interior (window) consol switch ?

Thanks.

My last car 530D E60 had folding mirror option with additional button on inside of door for manually folding the mirrors, I asked my dealer to program this into the key fob; this was done at no charge.

I have just changed for 535D LCI which also has the fold option, when delivered this was not linked to the key fob, but my dealer took it in the workshop (approx 10 minutes) and programmed into the key again at no cost.

To operate the folding mirrors remotely you just hold the lock button on the key fob for a couple of seconds, I am not sure why BMW don't include this feature in the remote closing as a standard option, it is only programmed on request.
sounds like you have a diamond dealer... something of a rarety. I'll see what happens at Robert Stern BMW

Yep, as soon as you press unlock on the key fob, they open out.

So "Autofold" was expected (but not delivered - since we have to hold the remote button to get the mirrors to fold) but "AutoUNfold" is a surprise?

For those that do not have autofold/powerfold/electric fold specced on their car........maybe we could write to BMW head office in Bracknell and let them know that there are a number of people that would be willing to buy this as a "retrofit option". If they know there are enough of us, maybe they'll relese it as a dealer fit retrofit.

Come on guys, let's see how much influence this forum actually weilds !!!...........Now does anyone have the correct department.
