Alright... firstly, the story is that I cannot get this plug & patched because the hole is too big. I've checked at four different tire places and said the same thing.

But I've got a bigger problem... my car placard says that for the rear - 275/30 R19 96W but my current tire (Michelin Pilot Preceda) is a 275/30 R19 92W. So the load index is not correct or match what the car placard says.
So... the tire store said that if I were to get into an accident (where it's my fault) the insurance company will tell me to @#$% off.

Accordingly, I called the guys who put these tires on for me in the first place (when I was modifying my car from an executive to a sport) they said that Michelin's dealer approves of the 92W load index tires on my car despite what the placard says...

I've asked the guys to put on a letterhead that the current tires ARE ok, which I will forward to my insurance company and see what they say and whether they'll accept that and insure me even though I have tires that are not coherent to the car's placard.

Any thoughts?

You're going through insurance for this? Is there a deductible on your policy? If so, it must be really low. I just recently replaced the entire set and paid roughly $220 for a rear tire. But I guess you might have to replace both rears?

No I don't plan to go through insurance but the insurance company is saying that the current tires I have on will void my insurance policy because it does not accord with the car's placard on tire specification.

I've got 275/30 R 19 92W, but the car's placard says I require 96W... just want to know if 92W is actually still ok... or whether I need to replace them... and unfortunately Preceda don't come in 96W, I'll need to either change to another brand or go up to a Michelin Pilot Sport.
