Hey guys... something $hit happened today... right rear tire got punctured and I just pulled it off and took some pictures...
Please have a look and tell me if you guys think this is repair-able!

This tire is a Michi Preceda non-run-flat.
Please let me know...

The round part (non sharp part) was inside the tire so I'm assuming someone deliberately pushed it towards the tire so that when I reverse out, it would just go straight in by force and thus it didn't have to be sharp.

Please let me know of your thoughts. And also whether you guys think theh alloy, the inner part, could be damaged as well... I got each tire at AUD$405.00 so I am hoping I can repair it... if possible... but I can still swallow a new tire price if necessary... but please share your thoughts!

should be able to plug and patch it from the inside just fine. For most people it's not advisable, but it's definitely doable..

Totally repairable with plug/patch. Relax. It won't cost much at all, either. Once done, you'll never know the difference.

Sure, it is just a puncture. No bid deal at all.

Yup, perfect place for something bad like that to happen, actually. You can plug that and patch it and ride on that tire for 2 years if you do it right.

The location of the hole is nowhere near the sidewall and is totally fixable. I'd recommend a patch -- not just a plug. One of my OEM summer Contis got fixed in a similar spot when basicaly brand new. I flooged that bad boy at many twisties meets until the end of its tread life without a problem.

+1 ... Properly repaired tires with no associated sidewall/tread damage other than puncture (even RFTs) are suitable for regular use.

However, if you track your car a patched/plugged tire will not pass inspection. The factory assigned speed rating is also voided - so I would definitely not drive at sustained high speeds on a patched/plugged tire.

[edit]BTW - looks like that tire is wearing down close to the indicators ... may be time to start shopping for new runner soon anyway!

Yup +1..... repairable but you'll lose your speed rating so long suitable for track or high speed use.
