I have a 2006 CPO 530i. My CPO is over in about a year and a half (12/2011).

Here's the problem I am having as of lately.

1. It takes about 30 seconds after I start the car for my music to come on.
2. My bluetooth is terrible. 80% of the time it has to come on twice before it works properly. For example, it'll show it is connected, as soon as I make a call out it'll freeze my whole iDrive for about 2-3 mins. The call fails and eventually the iDrive comes back. 5 mins later, the BT will be connected and it'll work fine.
3. I have been playing MP3 discs in my car since I got it. I have had the same disc in my car for about 2 weeks with no problem. Today, it worked in the morning. I go to the mall and get ready to leave and noticed that my radio is on and not my cd. I tried putting it back to the cd mode and it say's to insert a readable cd format (something to that effect). I take it out and re-insert it and it'll work, but some of the songs that worked, doesn't work now.

I was talking to my co-worker who has a 06 3 series and he said he had the lagging problem and got a software update. Since my car is still under CPO do you think the stealership will give me BS and want to charge me? Or will they even do it?

I was told last time that I have to pay a $55 fee everytime I get the car checked. Its funny because now that my car is not under the new car warranty, getting good/prompt service is much more difficult.

From what I've read from other posts, you have to have a software related problem to justify the upgrade per CPO. I think you should complain to the dealer, allow them to confirm your complaints and take it from there. If it is an issue that can be resolved by a software upgrade I don't see why they wouldn't do it. I received an upgrade 3 months ago and my bluetooth and radio issues are 90% resolved.

Be careful with the sw upgrades relating to the BT module , they have been know to fry the comms module which is what it sounds like you are having issues with. I don't think the CPO covers that stuff, and they can be very pricey to get fixed.

Where ya been bro? Geez, you haven't posted here in a long time. If the car is under warranty I see no reason the dealer wouldn't upgrade the CIP to try to fix it.
