with a charger? probably not a good idea. if you connect another battery with jumpers while changing your battery, that is probably ok.

To me, this sounds like there's more risk than reward...

Why do you want to do this?

I just wasnt sure if i would lose settings that the tender would save. Seems like a bad idea, so i wont! Thx!

Personalization settings should remain on their respective keys. Transmission and fuel maps may have to be relearned - but that's normal. Radio station/channel presets may be lost, so make written notes of those.

Thought about doing this myself, after reading about having to reset the active steering and other problems. Don't just change the battery, it was easy. only had to reset clock and active steering was simple turn to left, turn to right, turn to center and that was it.

I changed my battery by myself and none of my radio presets were lost and I had the car unhooked from the battery for more than half hour. All I had to do was reset the clock (I do not have active steering). The trip odometer was reset, other than that it was a very simple task tom complete.
