can the e60 head lights be taking apart?

does any one know if u can separate the main transparent plastic from the rest of the unit? gaining u access to the inner parts?

me need to change the inner chrome


i had a quick look and saw a few metal clips around the outside of the lamp so looks promising

i don't think it can be taking apart without baking it. i bought a pair of used E60 headlight and try to put a CCFL angel eyes. i will post the answer once i get the light

I was told by my dealer that they are sealed units so cannot be taken apart but they do have a breather on the back(so not that sealed).

Maybe THAT's how the moisture is getting inside BOTH of my headlights..........BTW, the dealer is replacing both headlights under warranty within the month.

The E60 headlights are almost impossible to take apart even with baking. Many have tried to do that to remove the amber reflector on the US spec headlights but have been unsuccessful.

Pity cause I would have loved to change the color of the eyebrow surround. My car is black and I would have prefered the silver area around the eyebrow to be matt black. Something doesn't look right (for me) with the eyebrow look and a black surround could improve things a wee bit.
