...unless doors are unlocked?

i thought i read this was possible.
would the dealer do such a thing? or isnt there someone on here that can do it remotely?

You might want to clarify on what conditions you do want it to open and when not.

Do you mean you don't want to be able to open it from the inside button unless you unlock the doors first?

Probably means not accidentally holding down the trunk open button on the key while inside a house when it's raining.

yes it can be done. I had my dealer do this.

Prior to that I had the boot pop open so often by mistake.

exactly. i want the trunk button on the fob to work only when the car is unlocked. i dont want any accidental trunk openings.

i never got rained on, but i found my trunk open once after getting out of a restaraunt.

is it a simple procedure? i'd imagine programming is involved. how many hours labor would a dealer charge?

I think this is something that could be done yourself if have an NCSexpert set-up. The change is actually done in the Car Key Memory.

I found a retrofit for the boot (trunk) in progman while messing around yesterday not sure if thats it.

when i had mine done, I remember the dealer saying that he had to make a change in the Car/Key memory for this.
