OK, here's the deal, my car is booked in tomorrow at Damon Hill Warwick for an alignment check / adjustment.
To be honest I am very nervous of the car coming back worse (the car is only 5 months old 8k miles) the reason for it going in is that the steering wheel apperars to be slightly left when traveling straight ahead, I'm sure it has been like this from new, no abnormal tyre wear though.

For those of you with an E60/E61 could you do me a big favour please?

If you are out in your car today could you take a mental note of where your steering wheel is when traveling on a level road (ie no pull to left or right). I have been using the indicator and wiper stalks to line up with (have noticed that these are not exactly level though, left one is higher than the right one)

The reason I ask is that if most E60 5 series are like mine I shall leave well alone, if not I will get it changed.

Would realy appreciate your help with this.

Thanks

Adam

I think I have steering wheel straight. At least I have not noticed anything abnormal.

Mine is about spot on straight...Clearly it depends on the road camber but generally it looks OK to me...I'm a bit paranoid about this myself, and find it irritating in the extreme so if it was out "I'd know"!!!

Mine is pretty straight.

Dead straight, but was wonky after CIP. Mine has Active Steering and there is an electronic adjustment that the dealer got wrong...

Mine is also perfectly straight. I'd notice if it was out of alignment.

mine is straight and I'm straight too :)
I will be getting wheel aligment as well during next service and I have totaly the same worries as you. I always expect the car to be worst after service :( sad, isn't it?

Many have noticed the steering wheel off a little. As I recall, the fix is an easy adjustment--one way or another. I'd have it fixed.

After I changed the original standard wheel with a sport one, my steering wheel was off to the right a bit. Significantly I'd say. Autohaus Hofmann in Regensburg said to me they have a special alignment tool and did it for me free of charge. Now it's just perfect.
