a/c problem - 2007 550i
I have a 07 550i with 1,000 miles on it that has some sort of a/c problem and was wondering if anyone else experienced it and had any repair info I can share with the dealer. On 2 separate occasions when driving the car for more than 1 hr at a time the a/c stops blowing air.
The a/c is on auto and, even though I can hear the blower running steady in the background, no air comes out the vents and the car starts to get very warm inside (Texas). I checked the climate controls in i-drive to no avail. I checked to see if floor vents opened but no air there either. Even if I put the car on max cool you can hear the blower working away even louder but still no air comes out of the vents. It seems as if the air path is blocked somehow. To be clear the fan/blower is running full blast but no air comes out any of the vents. Once I park the car for an hour or so the a/c works fine again.
I was thinking it must be some kind of sensor but the fact that the blower is running and no air comes out of the vents makes me think it is a blockage problem. But if it is a blockage problem, why would it just clear itself after sitting for an hour. I am asking on this forum before I go to the dealer because I anticipate the dreaded "we could not simulate the problem" excuse from the dealer and be stuck having to take the car back multiple times until they fix the problem.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

I know that you said that you checked your I Drive settings, but are you sure that the I Drive setting is set to the proper vents? It is possbile that it is set to your defrost vents and not the middle vents, suggest you play around with it while A/C is running. Also make sure that your temp settings are in the blue section and not the orange section as orange is winter setting and this could also be causing a lack of cold air.
