A/C extra loud?

My Ride: 2005 E60 BMW 525i - BIRTHDAY- 11/04 - EXTERIOR- Amethyst Gray Metallic. INTERIOR- Beige Dakota Leather w/Dark Poplar Grain Wood. OPTIONS- Automatic Transmission, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, 6-disc CD changer, Bluetooth using Verizon Raza V3c phone, SIRIUS Satellite Radio. ADD-ON's- 545i Chrome Grill, Euro Red Reflectors, Factory all-weater matts & Factory Coat-Hanger.
Is it me or is the A/C in the car extra loud? I keep it on auto but from day one it just seems like the car's a/c is just very loud to the point when I get a call I have to stop it because you can't hear or be herd on the phone. Also it seems extra cold too unless I move the knob to like 80 it seems to always be the same temp.

Have you tryed to adjust the centre vents with the iDrive for the coldness?

also check your vent settings in idrive. If you have it at max cool, it stays cold even with the temp dial set fairly high. that also might be what is keeping the fan speed high as well.

yes I've noticed that too. I have to turn it down to talk on the phone for the first 5 minutes. It's cold though, which is worth it to me.

It does cool well enough - but the noise is excessive compared to most previous carsI have had with a/c - but it is trying to cool quite large volume of air inside the cabin I guess.

The AC works well... nice and cool... so usually when its gets cool enough I change it to manual mode by turning it down to fan speed 2. and that usually keeps the temperature pretty good. at least for me. inside the iDrive I have it at 2 bar "coldness" that way since its not on auto it doesnt sound like a hurrican room.
