Hey best of luck to you and the family. This is precisely why ever since I was a child, I planned to have only two kids...so no one would ever sit alone on a ride at Disneyland, and so I would only have to seat a maximum of 4 in a car!

Just an FYI, the V8 version of the XC90 is using the V8 engine from the Ford Taurus! We test drove it but eventually went with the X5 to replace my wife's Acura MDX. The Volvo drove very well and does have more space (3rd row of seats), but I personally had a problem with the Ford engine. I'm sure it's fine and it is obviously well tested in the Taurus line of cars, but if I'm paying up for Volvo engineering and quality, I don't want a Ford engine. Just my opinion...

The only Taurus V8 I thought I knew wes made by Yamaha. Is the V8 in the Volvo made by Yamaha? If so, I wouldn't have any touble accepting it.

Good point! Not that familiar with which V8 was in the Taurus, just was struck by the Volvo sales guys making the point of tellng us it was the same engine as the V8 Taurus. Perhaps if he had gone into more detail we would not have been so turned off by the thought of Volvo now using Ford engines in their cars. Overall, the XC90 is a very nice vehicle and it was a hard choice.
