Which to Buy 08 530i or 05 545i

Heys guys,
I am in the market looking for an E60 and I am having serious dilemas and at this point I don't know which to go for.
First let me start off by telling you I love the rumble of a V8 but at the same time I do quite a lot of city driving so fuel consumption is a priority. I just came from an X3 that did respectively 13.0l/100.
I had been looking around for 545's but a guy I know wants to get rid of his 07 530 so it's the facelifted model which I am excited about plus it has the extra hp and only has a few miles.
How does the 07 530i compare to the 545i? Performance figures are not amazingly different and the fact that I do a lot of city driving I am thinking I should go with the I6 instead of the V8...
Your thoughts? Will I be missing out on the 333hp V8 although the Inline6 produces 272hp?
BTW he needs a reply latest monday evening so I will have to make the decision by then.
Any input greatly appreciated

Coming from an X3 i don't think you'd be missing out if you got a 530i. The LCI facelift is a plus as well. I too do alot of city driving and have a 545i. I fill up every 3 days and thats with a mixture of a heavy and light foot. So if fuel consumption is your #1 priority go w/ the 530i. Hope this helps

i like my 530i. it is not as fast as the 550i, but i've driven the 535i and it is a much closer comparison than *forum* members want to accept. the 335i, on the other hand, is a surprise compared to the 535i.
bmw gets shit for mileage, in severe city expect 4-5mpg less than ratings in any of the 5 series. i get about 16mpg in my 2007 530i (255hp), but when i got a loaner 750i with the v8, i only got 11mpg in the same city settings; it's rated at 14.
