Interesting discussion. When I first completed my break in period I had no trouble whatsoever spinning the wheels. But recently it is very difficult to do so. If I brake-torque the wheels spin, but not the way they once did. In my erstwhile M3 both wheels would spin as much as I wanted them to, even with SMG. So with an additional 100 ft/lbs of torque I should have no problem spinning at least one wheel. Why a 57 year old man would care about such things is another matter, but I do.

Way to go Rudy. Yep, Eddie was over 60 in this photo. It was the year he won the NHRA top fuel championship. It seemed to me that Eddie always was wheel-spin challenged. He'd either turn in a dandy pass or go up in smoke with not much in between. I used to watch Eddie in Houston in the 50's at the Houston area drag strip. Update: I tried the brake torque method today after disabling the DSC/DTC first like I normally do after starting the car and not pressing the brake. And today there were no NERDS!
I had planned to first try it that way, then if it didn't work, I'd try disabling again while pressing the brake to see if that made a difference. So why did it work so nicely today?, I have a theory.. Today the temp outside was 75 and not much humidity. When I tried it before and the NERDS wouldn't let me it was 90 and humid out, so perhaps when it's really hot the NERDS little air intake sensor tells the ECU to hold back power at the lower RPM range. All modern car ECU's will do this to keep emissions down and not stress a hot motor. So I will wait for another hot day and repeat to see what happens.
Either way today's success was sweeet. Yes I could have let off the gas but when both tires were roaring I couldn't resist, so I figured, lite em up baby!
