Thanks for the data cobradav!

My car is going for the first service in a couple of weeks.

I guess I have the CIP 19.2 but I have some problems with my AC (not the advanced one).

The manual functions sometimes work, sometimes not...?

I took my car in on 12/28 for the eyebrows not functioning after receiving CIP 23.02. Service technician loaded 24.01 and the eyebrows still did not work. They then installed 24.00 and the eyebrows are now working. The SIB shows 24.00 or higher. It appears that 24.00 fixes the problem and 24.01 does not have the fix for the eyebrows

I'm surprised you have the car back so quickly!

I'm going in on Tuesday for eyebrow fix and aux in retrofit. If the above is true, the situation will bordeline incompetence..

Yes, I agree that the thought I had was they were incompetent and did not have a clue. The service department did follow what the SIB said to load CIP 24.00 or higher. The problem is that 24.01 does not contain the fix for the eyebrows. Atleast that's what they told me and is what's noted on my service paperwork.

I originally had the 23.02 installed to fix the "slam effect" from the transmission. As we all know now that's what created the problem with the eyebrows. This 23.02 also eliminates the need to press the "accept" on the initial screen. I had to ask about this as they did not tell me. There is as service bulletin that states this is correct. It would have been great if the service department would tell you what the pro's and con's are when a upgrade is performed. Maybe if they knew themselves?

Isn't weird that the screen would ask for you to accept and then it does it on it's own?

I PURCHASED MY 550 IN LATE NOV AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR NOTICED THE NAV WAS SLOW I TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY SAID THERE WERE TWO PAGES OF SOFTWARE UPDATES. I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK SEEMED BETTER BUT THEN I READ THIS POST ABOUT THE EYEBROWS SURE ENOUGH THEY ARE OUT.
MY QUESTION IS HOW DOES A NEW CAR LEAVE THE SHOWROOM DELIVERED WITHOUT ALL THE SOFTWARE UPDATES? ALSO WHY ISN'T BMW TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN IF I DIDN'T READ THIS FORUM ON A DALILY BASIS. I'M GLAD WE HAVE THIS FORUM BUT WHAT IS BMW RESPONSIBLEILITY ON THESE ISSUES.

I didn't know that it was such a problem. I didn't even realize that the caps were on to tell you the truth.

A good touch typist then - not needing to refer to the screen!

Incidentally, some online net geeks have a convention where contiguous (yes I mean contiguous) capitals MEAN SHOUTING!
