Does anyone know whether, in summer, fronts of cars with Xenons (compared with those without Xenons) tend to get more covered with bug bodies?

I seem to be "attracting" quite a few...

Hehe, funny theory in fact. I have no clue, I think our E39 front was as "buggy" as our E60's front.

Which of course attracts the bugs only in the dark...

Maybe it's the aroma of diesel?

Maybe... zzzzzzzzzz.....

I dunno what it is but it's a $#@$%# pain in the a$$ at longer trips or on highways. Last week washed the car...went for a "drive" on a "highway" and only after 50km when i got back the front was covered with dead bugs and the windshield was also bombed with those f&$#ers. It's like eating all up...darn. What a fly splatter machine!!

Logically, bugs are usually in swarms... and your car just happen to be going through it.. I don't think the color or intensity of lights will attract the bugs unless your standing still.

I wash them of ASAP, so they don't "burn into" the paint.

But I actually think it's pretty cool, when you arrive to your destination with a cleaned E60, with the front covered with bugs - means you've been driving it fast

It seems to be at speeds over 120-140 km/h the car really will attract the bugs

Actually it was less of an "intensity" question but more of a "colour temperature" question.

Certain species of bug are attracted to certain colours.

I seem to be attracting green bugs (dunno the species!!)

The intercooler looks quite nasty after longer trips at night
