i been reading on the n54tech and e90post website, i dont have a BT tool but they say you can replace for and new battery and register it?

in the BT tool, you can run service function "Register battery replacement"

Any members with a BT tool, chime in, is there a service funtion like this?

I was just quoted this moring $400.00 by the dealer to replace and register a new battery??

burger tuning is located in the SFV and IIRC they use their BT for a small fee.

You can also check with LT BMW (vendor on e90posts. You can also check with EAS

I have the BavTech Scan tool, purchased it and a new battery. Came out cheaper than a dealer visit too. Now i have tool to check and clear codes and perform service resets and much more. Nice GUI interface too.

did the tool have "register battery replacement"? Is this how you reset the intelegent battery sensor? This is what the dealer is doing and there charging $200+

Interesting. There is another thread on this forum that quotes a letter from BavTech that states they do not support battery registration. Could you please give specific details on which menu in BavTech gives you this capability?

Thanks.

Battery registration w/ Dealer - after you install the battery yourself, ask them how much they will charge for reg, typically they will say 1 hour of labor, but you can tell them it doesn't take that long, and they will do it for 1/2hr labor charge.
