Great day today.
Got in a very minor accident that led to my airbag coming out ?? Not sure why it even deployed. Anyways, seems like the car did something else as well, it won't start and I did a quick google while I was waiting for the police report so I didn't have to get a ride all the way home and found out about the BST which cuts the power to the starter when and if an airbag deploys for safety reasons I'm guessing. Got the tow truck to give me a jump instead and walla behold car runs and I drive home. Now my question is this, does anyone have any experience in replacing this and what part is needed to get the job done. Did a search on realoem but came up with part number ;61129130178, and I am not really sure this is what I need. Also looking to replace the driverside airbag for a sport steering wheel couldn't find any part numbers on this. Anyone with some experience with these that could chime in here?

I am assuming you'll be calling your insurance for filing a claim. As you already stated, airbag needs to be replaced, along with BST.

I replaced the BST cable myself. It is not hard you have just unplug the power from both sides. Just lift the floor cover little bot and you see where it connects. Replace with new one
I have to reset the light today. passenger restraint light come on a few weeks ago on mine and I was diagnosed by dealership with BST that why I replaced it.
But as I was replacing it I noticed that the small black cable that runs along with it seemed damaged to
me where it goes down in to trunk floor. I am wondering if this cable is associated with air bag and this could be the reason the light is on?

This is the correct part# I ordered it from ESC tuning for $250
My concern is the small black cable which runs along the main red one
