I've emailed some people at Pagid and Stoptech and wanna see some prices and what they might offer. But I'm basically thinking about upgrading my brakes. I know that many people have issues with the OEM brakes - be it the fading, the dust or squealing, or whatever else - so how many would actually go for an upgrade of pads and rotors?

Stoptech offers a very reasonably priced BBK. I think around $3,200for their 8 piston kit. Not sure but i remember it was an amazing deal.

I looked at their site and I couldn't find ANY products for Xi car - not any Xi - not 3ers, nor 5ers - nothing. But at any rate, I don't really need 8 piston set, neither do I wanna change the lines and the calipers - I just wanna do the pads and maybe the rotors for now.

another option would be OEM-sized direct replacement rotors that we have. we'll be installing my new rotors and pads on Tuesday on my personal e60, and Joe just ordered something new as well

In the PM you'd sent me it appeared to me that the "direct replacement" rotors that you have are made by Stoptech - is that correct?

So, its actually a 6 piston kit, but still an overkill for me - I would just switch out the rotors, pads and the lines. Might not even get the rotors if mine are ok.

But all this talk brings me back to square one, really - what is the best pad to use on a 2006 530Xi? Tried looking at the EBC - they don't appear to make pads for an Xi - at least I couldn't find any. Axxis - I'm not too sure about. Stoptech - I don't think they offer pads for my car... I'm lost a bit. I want definitely more stopping power than stock - I drive my car at 100% at times and need to have good stopping power. Definitely would be nice to reduuce the dust. And minimal fading, of course. All year round street usability is a must, of course. And if that's not enough, I also want them to be in a reasonable price range. Can anyone recommend anything?
