I just bought a full set of rotors and pads from Nerweezy/Trinity Autosport for my 550i and my Range Rover. Nerweezy/Trinity AUtosport has great pricing/service and I highly recommend them as a vendor.

Get the parts from a reputable vendor and have a reputable local BMW mech to do the job. Where are you located? Cali? There's gotta be 3-4 people within a few miles from you. I'd not recommend the dealer, but DEFINITELY DO NOT GO TO Autozone or any other franchised crap like that! Neither should you EVER take your e60 to any mom and pop shop that's not known and respected for good work on BMWs. It'll cost more, but its well worth it, as a bad place will inevitably lead you to pay thrice (yes, that's 3x the original amount) the amount the dealer would charge.

I'm not trying to scare you - I've just been down that road...

Himm you are only 19 and driving 5 series and complaining about high cost of maintaining your car. Something doesn't sound right here but I'm not sure what it is

I would get the parts from Nerweezy and do it yourself! I never changed brakes on a car before and specially not a BMW but the DIY on here is all you'll need from your fellow members. It has step by step with pics. I was really nervous at first but as soon as you do one, you will find out how easy it was and have 110% confidence to the rest. Just use the search in DIY, tons out there. But if you are not mechanically inclined then I would either get a friend to help who has experice or I guess, take it to a mechanic. GL.......

Any Indy shop can do the job just fine, pretty routine. Since these brakes tend to squeal at times make sure they put some anti squeal spray on the back of the pads before its installed. In fact if you buy the parts and take it too them you can put it on the night before you take your car in. I'd actually recommend buying the parts yourself then you take the risk of them buying cheaper products and jacking the price up on you. Plus you get to pick the quality of parts you want to go with.

+1 DId my own last Saturday. The stealership tried to charge me for the front around upwards of $500. Got it done myself and spent about $170 total.
