How many miles are you getting out of a set of brake pads. And what sort of driving are you doing?

At 12,000 on odo the service indications say 39,000 front and 40,000 rear yet before replacement. I use engine braking and time my stops at lights for gental or no use of brakes (Step tranny). Can only remember one panic stop. Minimal brake dust in a week (my measure is a week, as I wash every week).
27 miles one way to work - at 85% highway as it takes me on average 30 minutes. Few short errands - use truck on weekends except for any escort duties for wife.
Just as likely to use her Audi Cabrio in under 80 degree weather on weekends.
