My car is leaking a lot of brake fluid around the master cylinder. The car hasn't been braking quite right and I had it flushed out today and now it's leaking like crazy. I can't tell exactly where it's coming from but I was wondering if this is a symptom of the Brake Vac Pump Recall BMW recently published? I'm going to call the recall number tomorrow but it's late tonight, just hoping to get some insight if anyone had a similar experience.

Unless you have a V8 (4.4L or 4.8L) engine, the recall won't apply to you. If you do have the relevant model vehicle, the issue has to do with the vacuum line/check valve not the master cylinder. However, the recall includes replacement of of line, master cylinder, and brake booster. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks for the response. Turned out to just be a loose hose on the master cylinder and did not need replacement. Service Advisor also mentioned recall was only for V8 models.
