Background to topic: I have stainless steel brake lines and Axxis Deluxe pads - installed with brake bleed at about 30k miles. New vacuum pump with new lines installed at 40k miles.

It just seems I have to depress the brake pedal so much for the car to stop. I noticed this last week after I drove a new Chrysler 300 around for a few days. Man - you just touch the brake pedal and the car wants to stop. That's sorda the type of brake feel I'm looking for.

First - is what I'm feeling/seeing normal for my set-up described above?
I, for one, doubt it, but could be wrong.

Second, what can I do to improve this situation?

Interesting.. The way my brakes are sound quite like yours.

I drove my friend's Nissan Altima and it was the same way. One tiny tap and you felt it just almost completely grabbing you to a stop. Though I had a different opinion.. I didn't quite like it. I felt like I lost that middle ground of slowly coming to a controlled stop. It almost felt like all or nothing.

I have a 2004 545i with all OEM brake components, i.e., no aftermarket. My brakes have always "grabbed" at the first touch of the brake pedal. That is one of my favorite things about the car. I am no expert on brake systems, but I would think that yours could be adjusted to give the response you are looking for, though I would not know how to describe what to do.
