Someone said break heavy, there's still some gravel on the road in front of my house. Maybe I'll lock em up and bring the car into the driveway sideways. I'm sure that'll get someone's attention in the neighborhood.

I do agree that the squeeching is very annoying - I'm taking it in this week to meet with a service foreman, I'll post the results of that wondrous encounter.

I just took my 545 in for this same reason, the Idrive said I still had 27k left on the brakes. I had tried the high speed braking, trying to clean off the calipers while washing the car, and then realized that for this much money they should fix it under warranty. Took it in and it turns out it was the front passenger sensor that was faulty along with my rotors being out of spec. Got it all replaced under extended warranty. Now I'm squeak free and don't cringe when I pull up to other cars at stop lights

Mine too, I complaint to the dealer a while back but they told me it's normal and its because of brake dust. My warranty just ran out last month and I plan to tackle this problem myself. My pad still have plenty of life and no error showing on idrive.
My question is if it's faulty sensor do I need to replace it or can I position it properly? also do I have to remove the brake pads to get to the sensor?

i had the brake squeal at 34k they replaced pads sensors and it was gone. now have 47 and im hearing a metal grinding noise now from the rear right wheel. only comes ones in a while and when im going really slow. sounded like the exhaust pipe or something was hitting the ground. looed underneathe nothing hitting the ground. cars been lowered for ovr a year and this is a new sound. gonna take wheel off and spin the hub and see what gives.

I'm not qualified to make any guesses however my brother told me that when you have new pads or even if you're always light on them, they tend to "shine" up, get smooth and squeel.. couple good hard brakings should sort it out.. I wonder if BMW brakes are such that they cause the latter to occur.
Out of curiosity is everyone using OE BMW pads or other?
