Call BMWNA and have the car registered in your name to get on the recall letter list if your car qualifies.

My vacuum pump was leaking very little, and my SA replaced it under CPO a few months ago - my cost was the $50 deductible.

thanx, I called BMW Canada and got the info updated. The csr checked into the vacuum pump and brake booster recall, he mentioned that there is an email about active recall for both components but he can't confirm yet since he needs to verify with the warranty department. He's gonna get back to my by this afternoon.

Also i mentioned how im being charged 2-3 hour shop time to get my eyebrow issue fixed, my eyebrow doesn't work and SA at dealership mentioned its couple hour shop time to get the software updated which will fix the issue, and its not covered under warranty. CSR thought this may be covered so he's gonna check into that too, i'll update when i hear back from them.

If you have no symptoms, should you still go ?

good question, i was debating that myself. my car is doing so well that i really don't want anyone putting a wrench on it, not even the experts at the stealer. there is a chance that all the hoses and fittings that have to be disturbed when they change out the vacuum pump will develop leaks a year from now, and then i'll have to fix that too.

At least I don't feel alone not having gotten a letter either. Anyone know the specifics of what is involved in the repair under this recall?

Completed the brake recall on my 545i a couple of weeks ago. They called me at home and arranged an appointment.
They said they performed a precautionary replacement of a 50cm brake pipe somewhere after the hydraulic booster. Performed a safety check, finished. I was in and out in 30min flat.

Looks like Europe's getting the letters first. Anyone in the U.S. receive theirs yet?
