I just had my front brake pads replaced at 12,000 miles. Car is 15 months old. It must be my driving style. Can anyone top this?

Do you have original brake pads or replica?
If original, you really have to look at your driving skills cause the last time i reached that mileage changing brakes i was just 20 years old.

Original from Dingolfing. Service monitor said I had 3700 miles remaining on the pads, but they went ahead and replaced them because I complained of loud squeal upon braking, but still, even 3700 miles left is pretty quick.

Yeah, i think its far too quick. Try lifting your gas earlier so your car brakes more on the engine. Besides that it might be questionable what the service monitor said. Inspecting yourself might be an option next time.

I got 41,800 miles out of my front pads which admittedly was 80% on Motorways. So must be your driving style. How long are your tyres lasting?

I had my first rear pads replacement at 14,000 miles, the front have 4000 miles to go. So I guess it might be our driving style.

I had 90,000 on my 540 original brake pads when my son took over two years ago. He still is running with the original pads, but does not put a lot of miles on -- still something over 100,000.

Normal would be about > 60.000 km or some 38,000 miles.

On my old E39 525iA I had the front brake pads replaced at 62.000 kms.

I will try. I'm planning to attend some AutoX sessions this summer.
