Default Brake Line Replacement

Tell me what the bill should be for total brake line replacement (both sides) on an '07 530xi by an independent BMW master mechanic. Thanks.

There is no set labor hours for brake lines only on the brake hoses. What that means prices will vary depending on the shop and materials since brake lines are locally made not manufactured by vehicle. If I was writing up a quote this is what it would roughly look like with the current average labor cost if you're talking about replacing all the main lines

Thanks! I only have to have the rear lines done, so I guess we're talking about a $700-$800 range?

I would say $700 at most. It's hard to gauge nowadays with the labor prices being so outrageous.

I've noticed labor prices going up and up, but most jobs are labor intensive though.

Yes I saw a shop charging almost $300/hr, dealership of course but that is insane. There's no regulation at all so shops can charge what they want.
