Sounds very attractive from the Kleenwheels ad cos it's such a pain cleaning those rims especially the front ones. But they look quite ugly, do they show up badly once installed? Thanks.

I'd avoid them. You will damage your brake discs due to heat build-up and you will VOID your warranty for the brakes.

Aside from the possible risks of heat build-up, I imagine they'd look pretty fugly...

I vote no!
(that is if my vote counts) :D |
besides being ugly (very noticeable on our open spoke wheels), they do build up heat.
why not just get ceramic brake pads...ive heard they GREATLY reduce brake dust and dont alter performance at all. |

Ugly, and won't allow brakes to vent properly.
Get a California mini duster to use exclusively on your wheels--works great. http://www.calcarcover.com/product.aspx?id=1021&cid=101 |

I don't know if the technology has improved over time. |

What you want, and what I did on my E39, is to replace your stock brake pads (start with the fronts...they worse offenders since the front brakes do 3/4 of the braking) with Axxis Deluxe+ pads.
Go to www.zeckhausen.com and pick up a pair from Dave. He is a heckuva nice guy and you'll find all sorts of good stuff on brakes on his site. The consensus on these pads vs. OEM is that they are equivalent except for the brake dust. Some have claimed they felt that they lost a "couple feet" on braking distance but I dunno. I put them on my E39 and LOVE THEM! No more dust...it is wonderful! |
