I'm about to replace my rear one with 24000km. My rear have about 2200 and my front have about 4600 left. But I'm getting them all replaced soon, since my iDrive is kinda stuck there with the brake pads.

Most modern rotors don't have enough meat on them to go through two sets of pads. But it can happen and it's not unheard of. The only way to tell is to measure the rotor to see if there is enough life in them. Normally it's a 1:1 ratio.

WHOOP!! My bad guys... Sorry...
I asked my SA about this before, and he said that, brake discs are changed every second time the brake pads are changed. I'm trying to convince him to change it everytime the pads are changed, because I read some posts here before that it should be that way. ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

Another scam to either a/ charge you oem part prices when the constant change is needed or b/ get you on the maintenance plan... dang i owned an old Triumph many years ago when steel was hard stuff, i remember having the discs machined there was so much metal there.
Anyway this thread has me thinking i'll be taking up the maintenance pack when offered around the time i'm arranging the finance with my dealer.

I wouldn't be too concerned (only about paying the bills
)
Power + Auto Box + Heavy Right Foot = Brake and Tyre wear.
Treat the discs as consumables!! and enjoy the car.

Rotors are vented in the front and rear. They look like they should be able to be turned at least once. There should be a min thickness stamped on the rotor. If they don't have any worn grooves, and are not warped, I would just use some emry cloth to bust the glaze off. The rotors are huge compared to the pads on my 530.
