I'm about to replace my rear one with 24000km. My rear have about 2200 and my front have about 4600 left. But I'm getting them all replaced soon, since my iDrive is kinda stuck there with the brake pads.

Not had any done on the 5er yet.
Speaking to a Tech (before I bought my 5), he says that cars on the 5 year Maintenance Pack are expected to go through at least one set of discs (not pads), and the Maintenance Pack covers for two sets in the 5 years.
It seems that the pads are hard, and the disc's aren't!
Obviously, Auto's will eat brakes more than Manual's.
I had to change the front discs on my 330d at around 80,000 miles (Automatic), but I sold another 330d with 70k and the discs were worn but OK.

Has anybody had to replace their front brake disks yet and if so what mileage did you get?
With my ex E39 ('01 525iA) the frontpads where chanded at some 60.000 km (about 37 k miles).

I have not had the brakes done for my e60, but for my e39, BMW recommended replacing the discs every time the pads were replaced. They said the discs were designed using soft metal to enhance the braking capability. They surely were worn when I did the last brake job on the e39 myself, so I also replaced them. However, I used 3rd party parts, don't remember who's, and they seem to be wearing much less rapidly than the BMW discs.

Well my front disks were replaced during a service at about 36000 miles and 2.5 years old. The front pads were done at the same time. I don't know if it weas routine or whether the disks were actually worn to the limit. When I ordered the car it came with free servicing for 3 years 60k miles so I didn't pay.
