For the most part I use the pdf manual for reference and to post pictures of I-Drive. I assumed that it was the same as what I had in my glove box until.......

I read some posts from our very own Mr. Iceman that AFHK BMWNA never promised us MP3. I looked in the pdf manual and it seems he was right. But I could have sworn I had read references to MP3 in the manual. Well it is in the manual in my glove box. Please forgive the shitty scan but attached are 4 pages from my manual that reference MP3 capability on the indash CD Player.

OK so there is a one liner in there "currently not available" so they didn't promise it just teasing us.

But it says "currently not available" so I guess they are living up to their promises...

I have a similar write-up in my manual about Weather Band, but I don't have it in my car....

Hmm, maybe thats a NAV non NAV issue. I have it with NAV.

I think the weather band is only utilizing a local AM radio station broadcasting with a weather band. For example, I can hear weather on the weather band AND on like two tiny AM stations locally. So maybe your area doesn't have a small station broadcasting a weather band.

I doubt it, I'm pretty sure we have weather band stations here in New Orleans. But the manual even shows WB showing up in the menu w/ FM AM SAT and WB. Not there on my car. I think Horzmad is right about the Nav vs. Non-Nav, but then we have our friend UuronL who doesn't have Nav but has both the WB and mp3! Go figure...

To futhure add to this topic I just got my car back from the dealer today after having SAT installed...

NO WeatherBand
NO CD TEXT
NO MP3

Specs on the car are a 2005 with Logic 7 and SAT No Nav so the saga continues...

You didn't mention a software update, but I see your car has a 12/04 build. If you got an update, then I guess it is the factory install like Iceman says. If you did not get an update, and getting Sirius doesn't require an update, then we still don't know...

W/ a 12/04 build date, I doubt you have the 16.2 required to get the mp3...
