I bought the app. 41 for cables from BMWhat company (from amazon), 59 bucks for the app, and I bought the ability to register the battery for around 12.
It works, I like it. Coding is fairly easy. The website explains everything too. It clears codes etc. Its nice. I hope they add the ability to code other stuff as well. I wanted to code lights but apparently I cant because my car is Pre-LCI.

Like angel eyes turning on when unlocking etc... Apparently you can code a LM2 (light module 2) with the app which came on LCI models. Pre LCI had LM1. Basically currently waiting until they give the LM1 some love lol. Hopefully. If not oh well.
