Is anyone using the the BMW USB Charger (http://www.shopbmwusa.com/ProductDet...ProductId=3723 )in the center stack ashtray? I have a 2008 535xi and am interested to know if the ashtray can be closed while this is plugged in the socket (much like the ligher can be)while not charging my phone?

Nope it doesn't. I have this one on top of it not closing it charges slow! :thumbsdown:

I looked into this and everywhere I called it was not available anymore... I went with a flush mount from ebay and I use the power adaptor that is under the glovebox footwell area. It so flush I forgot about it and when I removed the panel last night I thought, nice, I didn't realize I had a USB there, then I remembered! Ebay was like two bucks.
