Hi All,

Finalising order details for 535d M-sport later in the year, and having a dilema!

Reading about the run-flat saga and would like to steer well clear of them if possible, as we have terrible road surfaces here in Guernsey. What we need to know is - do the Style 172's still come with conventional tyres, or are they run-flats?

Local salesman insists they have always been run-flats, though they have never specced a car with this wheel type before so have not seen any first-hand. Brochure has always said run-flats but also says space-saver spare wheel essential...

Anyone here seen a factory delivered vehicle with Style 172 who can shed any light on this?

Cheers

Pretty certain they are non-Runflat even if delivered with the car from new - hence space saver requirement

Without doubt...On 19" rims they'll NOT be run-flats.. I have them from new. As previous post also states!

Thanks for the replies folks.

Think we will go with the 172 wheels after all then.

I have 172's and they are "real" tyres and a real pain to clean

They will be non runflats.

Great looking wheels and very easy to clean if you get the right sized brushes. Very easy to kerb, one touch and its game over!

I agree that they should be non-Runflat Continentals but knowing BMW and their relationship with Dunlop it may change at a moments notice! Dunlop now do Runflats in the 19" staggered tyre size(s).......

Ensure the dealer confirms at order time (Although the dealer in question seems to know diddly as usual!)
