After reading and hearing that BMW was entering the post-market performance parts market, this month both Bimmer and Rondel carry full page ads for "BMW Performance Parts".
So I own a BMW, and I know what a performance part is, I expect to see at least a dedicated link on the website. After 10 minutes of going into MyBMW, and the Owners site, I find "Accessories".
Accessories?
Not what I would call performance parts, but maybe something got lost in the translation. So here's where I can find my performance parts: roof racks, bike racks, lighted door sills, iPod connectors, a nice leatherette case for my extra oil.
I'm in seventh-heaven, I just can't wait to see what this beauty going to do with all my "PERFORMANCE PARTS". [FLAME OFF]

those accessories have always been available, and well advertised by bmw - on its website and by the dealers. i seriously doubt they are the new performance parts we've been expecting. perhaps the website just isnt updated yet. what does the bimmer and roundel ads say?

From what I have read, most of the BMW performance parts for sale will be for the e46 and e90. I didn't see anything for the e60.

makes sense, the market for 5er performance is very small compared to 3er.

no performance parts, just accessories and enchancements, no real ecu remaps or inductions or any major power gain mods?

But nice of BMW to join the after market accessories range, i bought a baby chair from this accessories catalogue.
