There are those who flaunt their Nuvis and their TomToms who panic because they find it "hard" to locate their next Burger Joint with the BMW Nav.

There are claimed "improvements" with POI searching after a the Progman 25 upgrade.

Can anyone perceive this "improvement"?

Searching works really well.

Only limitation is whether something is in the database to be found but that?s a problem with any system.

The search is also fairly quick.

I can't sense there is an improvement either so far - the search is not that effective given so much data is 'missing' from the database.

Believe it or not BMW Assist works fine! I use this function, shame one has to pay for it though - I fear it would be a tad embarrassing to ask for directions to a 'make me fat' outlet...........................

Other aspects of 25 are improvements though....................

Use BMW Assist and ask them to locate the place/building/shop you want and transmit it to your nav.

Ja, works great. Three scenarios.

1.) Too lazy to input - press CONCIERGE and ask them to transmit what you are too lazy to input
2.) Can't find address - press CONCIERGE, tell them what you are looking for, they find it and transmit
3.) Need actual concierge service - press CONCIERGE and ask for concierge, they make dinner reservations or find movie, theater, etc., and transmit coordinates

I was going out to dinner with a few BMW execs at TechFest, which was in Tacoma. None of us knew anything about Tacoma so I called the concierge and got a recommendation; they then made the reservation. Of course, none of us were driving BMWs, just rental cars, but finding a good restaurant was key. (For the curious, we went to Salty's.)

You can call BMW Concierge without being in your Bimmer?

Korrekt. I have the number on my mobile. You can call BMW Assist from outside the car also.
