i'm going to guess you have to do some recoding. though i have no clue about what module controls the seats. maybe there is a local module on the seat that you can swap sides??

No idea why, but I would be looking at extending the seat harnesses and running the pass over to driver's side and vice versa. Coding would be easier I guess if you knew how, but I don't so I tend to go what is simplest for me.

Hey Dannytm, I think this is what is going on in your car. I am doing the same seat swap in my 04 and I found this info in my tech notes for the project.

The driver seat control unit ALBFA and passenger seat control unit ALBBF are of the same construction. What differentiates them is that the passenger side unit has a ground connection on Pin 7 of connector X11548 ( ALBFA ) or X11551 ( ALBBF ) ( X11548 and X11551 are 8 pin plugs ). (this info is from BMW north america paid tech website) The way it works is that the command from either seat switch is sent to the KGM or SGM ( body control computer ) and is identified as having come from either the left or the right seat. The body control unit then sends the move command back to the seat harnesses.

I would check to see if your driver's seat computer has pin 7 grounded and if your passenger seat computer is not grounded on pin 7. If so that might be the problem. Only the passenger seat should have the passenger seat identifier pin 7 grounded.
