Just got Roundel- BMW is now rating the N54 Twin Turbo at 335 hp and putting it in the new 740i/Li and Z435i and 320 hp for the 335is and 335 Convertible. The N55 rated at 300 hp is 7% more efficient and will go into the 1 series, other 3 series, 5 series and X635i.

I remember reading about the N54 before I got it. It had some pretty advanced technology for a street car. I read that in order to eliminate turbo lag, if you jumped on the throttle it would inject fuel between the exhaust port and the turbo to create a mini explosion to create an instant high pressure wave to spool the turbos. I'm sure the N55 doesn't have that.
The F10 550 with software is going to be outrageous!

Its tough to see in photos. The F10 will make its offical US debut at the NY Autoshow in a week and a half. I'm going to a special presentation there provided by BMWNA and the BMWCCA NY chapter. I'll ask the BMWNA guys about the M Sport body package's availability but they usually don't answer many questions.

Yeah I am betting it might be even more than that. Alpina already gets 500 hp out the engine (with some modifications). Other tuners are already getting 670 hp out of the X5M engine. Since the new M5 will be powered by a different version of the 550i engine, I would expect some of the M5 performance parts, such as intercoolers, to be a bolt in. One thing is for sure, the F10 550i will be a rocket ship.

But getting back to the subject of N54/N55 for a second, I really wish we finally get the 635 in the States.
And I'm not talking about the 635d either.
