Hi Peeps,

i have a 2004 BMW E60, i have the sat nav optioon displayed on my idrive, however the cd player on the car is not working. i have a cd changer so have been using that for music but my main cd unit is not working. if i insert a cd then i get a message saying "medium cannot be read". also i notice in discussions that people have 2 slots one for the sat nav and another for normal cd's. i only have one is that normal? i am also unsure whether the current system will play a dvd as there is no mention of DVD anywhere on the system. i need some HELP!!i bought this car recently as and the car did not come with a DVD for the sat nav as the seller said that it got lost. any help will be much appreciated

Any help would be a great help.

Pretty sure the bottom drive is the DVD drive for the NAV...

It's also IHKA low so this may be an EU car with Business Nav.

Try cleaning the drive with one of those disks. Depending on where you are, Media Markt is a great place to get them.

yup, helps if you give details about your car, which nav system you have? and the like. DVD drive failure is quite common and the likely culprit.

I had the same problem, the readers laserunit was broken. I took it out from the dashboard and dropped it to the electronic repairshop and they replaced the readerhead.
